The characteristics that distinguished Word Press from Joomla, from Drupal started out as fairly clear cut. But as time goes on, the three programs have started to borrow functionality from each other. Word Press is no longer just blog software. It can function as a CMS. Drupal has changed their administrative interface so that is less complicated. and Joomla appears to be moving closer to Drupal's concept of greater user and category control.

That is not to say that the three programs are identical. Joomla has a distinct commercial streak, Word Press has a straightforward interface that is still fairly accessible to the end user, and Drupal has a depth and flexibility that the other two lack.

Whether you use Drupal, Word Press or Joomla, it is interesting to watch the drift.
